Year's end and the end of a path

CTW24 and a new product

Following our participation and follow-ups at Colombia Tech Week 2024, we returned to finalize an experimental Real-World Asset (RWA) product we had been developing for some time.

The concept was to create a local equivalent of an estate liquidation, adapted to Colombia’s legal and regulatory framework. We validated the proposed structure against local regulations with the goal of giving properties facing commercial difficulties an alternative route to market.

Rather than treating these properties as conventional listings, the idea was to explore different ways of structuring and presenting opportunities abroad that might otherwise struggle to find buyers or investors locally.

Taking it to market

We began promoting the concept through direct outreach to international brokers and realtors. The conversations led to valuable connections and considerable interest in the broader ideas behind the project.

These early exchanges also helped us explore how opportunities in local real estate could be presented to and accessed by participants outside Colombia.

This process allowed us to understand the real questions people have when investing abroad, as well as different perceptions of risk and other interesting insights that you simply don’t get when pitching to risk-tolerant business partners.

An unexpected pause

Unfortunately, during this period, our mother’s health began to deteriorate after a long fight with HBP-related complications. She passed away in January 2025.

We subsequently took time away from this and other projects to take a brief pause, prepare for the administration of the estate, and assume other responsibilities.

This change in our context and immediate priorities gave us the perspective to reframe everything and realize that there wasn’t much pending to develop anyway.

A completed chapter

We consider Arcadia’s initial experimental phase, built around a collection of MVPs and demonstrations, complete.

Our focus is now shifting toward securing funding and identifying opportunities to take the project further, while we use this period to reorganize our resources and prepare for the next stage.
